South Parish Congregational Church Augusta Emergency Overnight Warming Center

The Augusta Emergency Overnight Warming Center opened its doors for the first time on November 1, 2022. We are a low-barrier, emergency overnight center that offers a warm and safe place for those who are unhoused to sleep during the cold winter months from November 1-April 30th. Our Mission is to provide a low-barrier, safe and inclusive environment for individuals who are unhoused. The vision of the Augusta Emergency Overnight Warming Center is to live in a community that encourages dignity through low-barrier access to a warm, safe space.

We provide low-barrier, emergency, overnight shelter for those in need during the winter season of November 1-April 30th each year. We connect our guests with outside resources such as case management, general assistance, basic hygiene needs, peer support, substance use and recovery programming, etc.
