Description

Become a Literacy Volunteer Tutor and help someone improve their reading, get a job, read a book to their children, get a high school diploma, learn English, or improve their ability to move out of poverty.

Tutors work one-on-one with an individual to help them reach their specific goals, usually an hour a week.

Tutors are asked to attend training with Literacy Volunteers of Greater Augusta to give them basic skills in adult education principles. No prior teaching experience is required, just an openness to help others, be flexible and creative in teaching and respectful of others goals in learning.

Training is structured over 3 days: Orientation, October 10, 2019 - 5:30-7pm

                                                   Training, October 15 & 17, 2019 - 5:30-8pm

You can make a difference in helping someone learn to READ!
